1:00 pm Suzuki Baby/Toddler Class Workshop Room #2
"The goals of these classes, and of the Suzuki Method in general, are to create an environment for children, free from pressure in which they can gain skills, a sense of purpose in life, an understanding of discipline, and an appreciation of beauty. This is accomplished primarily through music and movement activites, although many skills learned are not necessarily musical. For example, students develop independence, creativity, communication and memorization skills and self-control. They also learn how to share, take turns, and follow simple directions." From the Stodola Suzuki Strings website.
Class size is limited to 15 parent/child pairs. Ages 0-3 only, with a parent. Colleen Ftzgerald

Each participant will render their own water-lilies painting using "bleeding" tissue and watercolor pencils on heavy watercolor paper. In addition to instruction regarding the use of watercolor media, participants will be given background information on Monet's painting techniques, compositional considerations, inspiration, and motivation. Did you know that Monet produced hundreds of paintings of the same lily pond? Have you ever wondered why none of them look the same? Part of the answer lies in the fact that most great artists are like scientists, and every piece of work is an experiment. Come and learn more! Ages 5 and up. Limited to 24 "artists."
