Some of our Favorite Things!
My staff and I are often asked, "What do you recommend?" for a number of things! So, to borrow a line from Roger and Hammerstein's Sound of Music . . . . here are a few of our favorite things!
These make great holiday gifts!
This is such a great camera! I've used Canon's digital SLRs (and their film SLRs) for more years than I care to count, but the 7D Mark II really has some nice new features. Highly recommend.
Adobe's current release of Photoshop Elements 14 is an updated version of their award winning software for photographers and scrapbookers.
This L lens by Canon is by far my favorite lens! It's huge and it's expensive, but worth every penny and every pound for places like Alaska and the Galapagos, another two favorites on a different list! It's a very long, high-end zoom lens with the potential for excellent photos!
For everyday use, this Canon L lens has a great range - wide enough to get most scenic landscapes but a respectable zoom for excellent portraits and close-ups if you're not too far away. This has the same high-quality optics of all Canon's L lenses and is fun to shoot with outstanding results. On short trips, I often find this is all I need!
This is called a pancake lens and it's really small and light (see how little it looks in the picture below!) The 40mm is a close to what the natural eye sees and that makes it a terrific walk-around lens. Besides its light weight of 8.8 ounces, the real bonus here is the f/2.8 wide aperture, making it great for low light, indoors, evenings, and inside gyms and theaters. It's not an L lens, but the price is right and the quality is excellent!
I've been delighted with the excellent customer service from Simply Color Lab! They have a wide variety of professional services available for photographers. Check it out!
