El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Explorer POST 457

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office offers a Law Enforcement Explorer Post to youths in the community! Post 457 meets every Wednesday at 5:30 PM. The explorer program is part of Learning for Life's career education program for young men and women who are 15 (can be 14 if you have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old.

Exploring's purpose is to provide experiences that help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of independence in their personal relationships and communities.

Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organizations in their communities. Local community organizations initiate a specific Explorer post by matching their people and program resoucres to the interests of young people in the community.

The result of the Sheriff's Office Explorer program is to help youths pursue and further their special interest in Law Enforcement.

The El Dorado County Sheriff Explorers provide a variety of law enforcement support functions including traffic control assistance, parking and crowd control, crime prevention and public information, and other public service activities to make our community better and safer. Explorers also receive many hours of law enforcement training by department personnel.

If you are interested in becoming a Sheriff's Explorer, please contact one of the below Advisors via email or phone for the location of an Explorer meeting.
