Q:

What do I need to know about Sacramental Preparation?

A:

Preparation for celebrating the sacraments involves the family, community and the parish. Parents are required to enroll their children in a faith formation program as part of the ongoing catechetical process. Children need to be enrolled and attending an approved archdiocesan program one year prior before beginning preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist.

It is through a partnership with the local parish staff and family that children are prepared for the celebration of sacraments.  Sacramental Preparation Parent /Child retreats dates will be provided in the beginning of the Faith formation year.  All parents and children preparing to celebrate Reconciliation and First Eucharist should plan to attend the retreats.
