Pompton Plains Reformed Bible Church: What We Believe
We believe in one God, who eternally exists in three distinct persons:
God the Father is our Creator
God the Son, Jesus Christ, is our only Savior and Lord
God the Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Helper
That the problem of the human race is sin. Sin separates us from God. We have no hope for salvation from our sin within ourselves.
That Jesus Christ is our only Savior from sin. We find salvation through faith in Him alone. This faith is a gift of God's grace. Our faith produces peace and comfort in this life, and a sure hope for the life to come.
That we are called to live a life of obedience and service to our Lord, in a spirit of thankfulness for our deliverance from sin and misery. Real happiness can only be found in such a life.
As a local body of the worldwide Church of Jesus Christ, we declare complete subjection and obedience to the Word of God, delivered to us in the inspired, infallible, and inerrant book of Holy Scripture. As a Reformed church, we acknowledge that the Reformed Creeds and Confessions provide helpful commentary on the Word of God. Therefore, we subscribe to The Three Forms of Unity: the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.
