One of the goals of the James River Home School Foundation is to offer and organize interscholastic, recreational, and developmental sports programs for the physical strengthening and training in discipline of home-schooled students.

Interscholastic Sports
The James River Eagles are members of the Virginia Home School Athletic Association (VHSAA) and play a competitive schedule of private and Christian schools, as well as other home school teams in the Richmond area and throughout central Virginia.

We offer interscholastic basketball, volleyball, soccer and cross-country teams for home schooled boys and girls.

Practices are held in the Chesterfield, Midlothian, Powhatan, and Richmond areas.

Recreational & Competitive

We recognize that there is a place for recreational sports, and we are seeking to provide fun, recreational opportunities for homeschooled students, so although we are still growing this aspect of our athletic program, we currently offer a co-ed rec volleyball program that is wildly popular.

We are looking to expand to a recreational basketball program in the near future as well.

Developmental Sports

We have expanded our basketball program to offer Developmental Teams for 5th and 6th graders. These teams tend to focus more on practice and skill development than on games in order to help young players learn and master the skills necessary to play the game and to help prepare them for the rigors of interscholastic athletics.
