What We Believe

God the Father as our Creator; Jesus Christ the Son of God as our Savior and Lord; the Holy Spirit as the Third Person of the Eternal God, who renews our hearts and makes us children of God.

That the problem of the human race is sin - sin in all of us - sin makes it impossible for us to create a sure hope for ourselves.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
I John 1:8 (ESV)

That Jesus Christ is the only Savior from sin - that we find personal salvation through faith in Him - so that in Him we find peace and comfort in this life, and a sure hope for the life to come.

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John 20:31 (ESV)

That we are called to live a life of obedience and service to our Lord - in a spirit of thankfulness for our deliverance from sin and misery - and that real happiness is to be found in such a life, and in such a life only.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking
but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14:17 (ESV)

That we as Grace United Reformed Church declare complete subjection and obedience to the Word of God delivered to us in the inspired, infallible, and inerrant book of Holy Scripture. We believe, and are fully persuaded that the Reformed Creeds do fully agree with this Word of God and therefore do subscribe to the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.
